Gilded objects such as sculptures, weathervanes, finials etc are mostly oil gilded in 23.5ct gold leaf and often left bright as they are often outside gilded pieces. Indoor pieces can be left bright or aged.



Below are some before and after examples of gilded objects.


A large copper cockerel weathervane re-gild. Removed the old paint, some repairs to the copper, then a fill re-gild.

Cast iron horse sculpture. This piece was restored for the TV show Salvage Hunters The Restorers Season 5 episode 15. The Cast iron repaired by Ted https://thedorsetcopperfish.co.uk/ I sculpted the missing tail end and other bits around the horse, painted yellow the gilded in metal leaf and aged.


A pair of 4 foot church clock faces. Oil gilded in 23.5ct gold leaf.
